Carpenters with Bretoba Construction will build, construct, repair, renovate, and erect structures made of various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, steel and other materials per client and contract specifications.
Skills Required
High school diploma; 3–4-year apprenticeship, or 4+ years’ directly related experience in the trade, or a combination of college or industry courses and 3 or more years of work experience in the trade.
Experience working in a fast-paced work environment.
Capable of handling/lifting heavy loads (more than 100 lbs).
Capable of carrying out repetitive activities in a physically demanding work environment.
Attention to detail in manual dexterity.
Working under pressure to meet client deadlines.
Language: English
Job Duties
Reading and interpreting designs and blueprints, and preparing drawings to determine specifications and calculate requirements per client and contract requirements.
Preparing layouts that align with building codes and regulatory requirements using measuring tools.
Measuring, cutting, preparing and assembling materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials to meet construction requirements.
Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems.
Finishing work including, fitting, and installing trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware.
May be required to supervise apprentices and other construction workers.
May be required to prepare cost estimates for clients.

The Carpenter’s Helper with Bretoba Construction will support the construction teams and assist the skilled tradespeople and foreman by carrying out the labour activities needed on construction sites per client contracts at the direction of construction team leaders.
Skills Required
High school diploma; 2-3 years’ directly related experience.
Experience working in fast-paced work environment.
Capable of handling/lifting heavy loads (more than 100 lbs).
Capable of carrying out repetitive activities in physically demanding work environment.
Attention to detail in manual dexterity.
Working under pressure to meet client deadlines.
Language: English (minimum CLB 4) .
Job Duties
Load, unload, and transport construction materials.
Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades.
Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
Clean and pile salvaged materials.
Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.
Assist tradespersons such as carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers and glaziers in construction activities.
Perform other activities at construction sites as directed.

Experience working in a fast-paced work environment.

Job Duties
Checking formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and directing placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade to meet client specifications.
Filling hollows and removing high spots to smooth freshly poured concrete.
Operating power vibrator equipment to compact concrete.
Levelling top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications using straightedge or float.
Imparting desired texture and finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
Installing anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.
Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete.
Waterproofing, damp-proof and reconciling broken concrete surfaces.
Repairing, resurfacing, and replacing worn or damaged sections of floors, walls, roads and other concrete structures.
May be required to direct the work of other construction workers to achieve the desired outcomes of the job.
